This generation is a follow-up to the original AirPods Pro noise-canceling model that debuted in October 2019. The processor is fueled by Apple's new H2 chip, which is designed to increase processing power without sacrificing efficiency (according to Apple). In combination with new low-distortion drivers, the H2 chip provides improved sound with better clarity, depth and noise cancellation.
